Our Vision

“To identify and develop potential leaders to achieve public good by exposing them to the latest technologies that would spark the creativity within them.”

Our Mission

“Our mission is to bridge the gap in the computing and technology education in Nigeria with the aim to provide computer science education and exposure to 1 million Nigerian Youths by 2020.”

We believe that when more youths are exposed to computer science early enough it will cause a ripple effect in the technology industries thereby pivoting more women and men towards pursuing a career in ICT & engineering related field in the nearest future.

Our Programs

Africa Code Week

Partnering with AfricaCodeWeek, an initiative by SAP, CodeSpark has helped reach out to 5000+ students exposing them to coding using tools developed by MIT (Scratch), APP Inventor alongside usage of basic programming languages such as HTML, CSS and JAVASCRIPT.

We have students who are now pursuing a career in computer science due to the exposure and training they gained during the annual event. Schools that have benefitted from this outreach include: Pearls Garden, Excel College, Ronik Comprehensive Schools, Edidots School, St Magrets Comprehensive School, Skylight and many more…

Hour Of Code

Hour of Code is a one-hour training on Introduction to Computer Science, designed to demystify “coding”, to show that anybody can learn the programming and broaden participation in the field of computer science basics, and to broaden participation in the field of computer science. It has since become a worldwide effort to celebrate computer science, starting with 1-hour coding activities but expanding to all sorts of community efforts. We take part in this global event by taking the gospel of code to local communities, schools and religious organizations.

Code Club

Our code club initiative would help students have a community of like minds in their schools, running this as an extra-curricular activity they would be well equipped with everything they need to know about technology and computer science using a fun and engaging curriculum developed by our team. Here we tend to go deeper in our engagement with these young minds as we hope to better guide them towards their observed strengths while exposing them to the current high-tech tools such as HTML/CSS, Python, Robotics, Virtual reality, Cryptocurrency, Drone technology etc.

Summer Code Camp

In August 2017, we launched our first SCW annual impact event at Ajegunle, a location ranked at No 2 on the list of slums in Nigeria – Wikipedia. Over 100 kids were trained to code using Scratch and were introduced to the unlimited possibilities of Robotics and Virtual Reality. Our aim for this year’s summer code week was to spark the creativity amongst raw talents who due to no exposure to any form of technology are blind to the possibilities beyond their reach. We are poised as mining the next Steve Jobs of our generation in Nigeria using this medium.
“Summer of Code Week is the most catalytic form of transformation available to Nigerian Schools, corporate and Government agencies in tackling the lagging quality of primary and secondary school education.”
This is our first “SUMMER CODE WEEK” event and serves as a propeller to set in motion an annually recurring event that would double its growth with each passing year as we take on Lagos first and then other neighboring states in Nigeria.
